The nearest town is Pottuvil, 2 km away from the Bay. It has 36.000 inhabitants out of which 80% are Muslim. There is a nice market in the city centre where all the locals go shopping, or the local farmers and fishermen go to sell there products. There is a few banks with ATM machines and a lot of local shops. It is a nice place to watch the easy going life style. At the moment the main road is under construction, and hopefully it will be finished for the season of 2010.
